  • Are Sakura Beauty Solution® products safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Please be advised that while Sakura Beauty Solution® undergoes all possible safety testing for the quality and efficacy of our products, we have not conducted specific testing for pregnant or lactating women. Sakura Beauty Solution® recommends that women who are pregnant or lactating consult their physician before using any Sakura Beauty Solution® products.

  • Breaking out when beginning Sakura Beauty Solution®?

Whenever you begin a new skin care regimen your skin will go through an adjustment. The breakouts can indeed be the result of your skin adjusting to the new products. If you have acne, it is normal to break out worse in the beginning as the impurities within your skin are being brought to the surface. This process is different for each person however typically it should resolve within 4 weeks.

  • What makeup should I use with Sakura Beauty Solution®?

We get asked constantly at Sakura Beauty Solution® what type of make-up, specifically foundation, is most recommended. If you have acne or oily skin the best type of makeup is mineral makeup. Mineral makeup is simply the simplest, a natural product you can put on your skin. It is lightweight, very small, and the pigment particles seem to bind well to clean, moisturized skin. We do not recommend one brand over another. Check for brands which contain no perfumes, synthetic color dyes, or chemical preservatives. Lastly, mineral makeup contains no oils, fragrances, fillers, chemicals or synthetic ingredients. The light mineral powders also let skin breathe naturally and won't settle into pores.

  • What does exfoliation do for my skin and why is it important?

Regular exfoliation is one of the things you can do to help transform your skin to a younger, healthier look. When you exfoliate, you are removing the dead skin cells from the upper layer of the skin, revealing the young, healthy cells underneath and encouraging new skin growth. Exfoliating reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Skin appears brighter, fresher and healthier after exfoliating. Exfoliating prior to using a treatment product allows the active ingredients to better penetrate the skin. Exfoliating helps to unclog pores, which can prevent acne breakouts. Exfoliating speeds up the cell renewal process. There are many ways to exfoliate, including scrubs, masks, brushes and microdermabrasion devices. Since everyone's skin is different, with varying sensitivity, Sakura Beauty Solution® recommends starting with an over-the-counter scrub or mask first and monitoring how your skin reacts. Once you know your skin isn't highly sensitive to exfoliating, you may wish to move on to trying other exfoliating tools and professional treatments.

  • What can I use if I have sensitive skin?

Sensitive skin can be so problematic and trying new products always brings concern. Sakura Beauty Solution® has several products that are formulated exclusively to help reduce irritation and inflammation. We recommend Botanical Sensitive Cream, Balancing Toner Poresolution, Sensitive Gentle Cleansing Foam, and Super Luminous Complex.

  • What does SPF mean and how do I properly use it?

SPF is important because the sun can result in skin cancer, ages your skin that causes lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness, uneven skin tone, and rough texture. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, which is a measure of the amount of time you can spend in the sun before getting a sunburn. For example, if you would normally burn after 10 minutes, a sunscreen with SPF 15 should allow you to stay out for 150 minutes before burning. Keep in mind that there are factors which reduce the level of protection that you have. The reality is that most people don't apply enough. It takes 30mls (about the size of a shot glass) of sunscreen to fully protect the average body from head to toe. One teaspoon of that should be on your face. Protection can be decreased with clothing rubbing the sunscreen off, sweating or being in the water. In light of the various factors that can decrease protection, we do recommend reapplying once every 2 hours to maintain a constant level of protection, regardless of the SPF. PA ranking, which refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from the UVA rays that may cause long-term skin damage. PA rankings are listed as PA+, PA++ or PA+++. The more +'s, the more protection from UVA rays. However, if a product does not have a PA rating that does not mean you are not protected against UVA rays.

  • What are the benefits of toner?

Theoretically, toner completes the cleansing process. They maintain the PH of your skin. Cleansers tend to be more alkaline and your PH is more acid, so toners maintain that balance of your skin. Some people do without it, but it would be better for your skin to use it. Your skin will eventually return to its normal PH level after awhile but using a toner will speed up the process.

  • Do I need to use skin care every day?

Caring for your skin requires a combination of home care and professional care. There is a level of care that only a professional can provide. Estheticians have cleansing and treatment tools and products that are not available to you as a typical consumer. Seeing them on a regular basis will help keep your skin in check and will also identify any upcoming issues. It is important to use a mask to maintain healthy skin between facials because it helps minimize flaws that distract from the natural beauty of your healthy skin. A proper cleansing of your skin morning and night is important to maintain healthy skin by cleaning the dirt and bacteria that your skin accumulates during the day. In the morning, create a fresh canvas for your makeup by cleansing skin from any debris or sweating that occurred during the night. Maintaining your body’s health is an ongoing process that requires professional help as well as dedicated home maintenance care.

  • What are blackheads?

Like whiteheads, blackheads are a type of acne lesion. The main difference is blackheads are not covered by a layer of skin as whiteheads. In the absence of this layer of skin, the sebum (the natural oils produced by our skin) within a blackhead-affected pore is exposed to the air around you, causing the sebum to oxidize; oxidized sebum turns dark brown or black. Getting rid of blackheads and clogged pores is a process that requires products containing salicylic acid, a regular skincare regimen, and sometimes help of professionals. Layering salicylic acid on at least twice a day as a face wash or moisturizer. Exfoliating regularly is the key to keeping blackheads in check because it scrubs away dead skin cells that could clog pores.

  • How long until you know if a product works?

The general rule is to use something for at least one month. The complete benefit of skin creams won’t be visible until after a full cycle of skin-cell turnover to take place, at least a month. Avoiding the sun and stop smoking because both factors can interfere with how well and how quickly products work. Nothing except actual medical procedures will give you instant results. Your skin might feel softer, cleaner if you try a new moisturizer or cleanser but you should still use it for at least four weeks to really test it. If you’re trying a brand new routine, you may have to wait for some time. Lighten dark spots or acne marks treatment tend to start working and you can see visible improvement within three to four weeks. Some products work really quickly, and others take longer. Use everything for at least four weeks before making decisions, have reasonable expectations for products, and be patient.
