With age, the skin suffers natural wear-and-tear, just like the rest of our bodies. But much of what we think of as natural aging is in fact due to sun exposure and other factors. That means it can be avoided - and it's never too late to start.

1. Sugar

Microdermabrasion is an exfoliating treatment that specifically targets scars, and involves applying aluminum oxide crystals to the skin with varying degrees of pressure, which are then suctioned off to reveal new clearer skin. The most common side effect is skin redness, but the actual procedure can feel uncomfortable and painful, especially when the suction is applied over the scars. A natural alternative is sugar to gently exfoliate the skin. You control the amount of pressure to apply, depending on what feels comfortable and how much you need to rid your skin of dead cells. Simply splash the face with warm water, then dip your damp fingers into a bowl of sugar, and using these same fingertips, gently scrub the sugar in circular motions over your entire face including your lips – for at least one minute. Rinse off with cold water and pat dry, revealing soft skin with a healthy flush. I use brown sugar with a little honey to make a paste.

2. Banana

You can use a banana as an all-natural, homemade facial mask that moisturizes and soften your skin. Not only you can eat a banana for your overall heath, but apply it on your skin as a natural face mask. It is packed with some vital vitamins and nutrients that make banana face masks extraordinary beauty fix. Bananas protect our skin from free radicals and delay the aging process. Some people go to the extent of terming bananas as Mother Nature’s painless low-cost Botox. Mash up a medium-sized ripe banana into a smooth paste, then gently apply it to your face and neck. Let it set for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. Another popular mask recipe calls for 1/4 cup plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 medium banana.

3. Sunscreen

Prevention is always better than a cure. We all can prevent premature aging using sunscreens and nourishing lotions. Many people use Botox to smooth wrinkles but a lot of those lines and wrinkles could have been avoided in the first place if more prevention were made when exposed to the sun. If you can’t stay out of the sun, be sure to wear sunscreen every time you go outside. Staying out of the sun and using sunscreen are early ways to prevent wrinkles and sagging skin.

4. Hydration

In addition to using sunscreen and staying out of the sun, keeping your skin hydrated and smooth with lotion. Moisturize! Dry skin makes skin dull and age. Well hydrated and moisturized skin look young and beautiful. Just be sure you’re hydrating with water and non-sugary drinks, like sodas or juice. Drinking plenty of water keeps your body and skin hydrated so your skin stays smooth and clean. That being said, excess of water not only purifies your blood it strengthens your immune system improving your skin texture.

5. Take Care of Your Body

Another important way you can naturally take care of your skin so you can avoid aging skin and wrinkles is to just take care of your body. Don’t smoke. Avoid excessive alcohol or drug use. Exercise. Eat healthy by providing yourself with foods rich in vitamins and nutrients. If you take care of your body and your skin, you’re more likely to avoid wrinkles and looking older.
