Beautiful, healthy skin requires daily care. If you follow the golden rules after your daily shower, on holiday, during the cold winter months... your skin will be softer, suppler and radiantly beautiful!
1. Short Showers/Baths
When it comes to keeping your body clean, it’s always best to keep it short and sweet. Showers or baths, avoid staying in hot water for too long. Keep your baths and showers warm, and regardless of how good it feels, don’t soak for too long so you don’t dry out your skin and strip its natural oils.
2. Hydrate Immediately
Right after you get out of the shower or bath and done cleansing your skin, it’s important to immediately slather on body oil or lotion so your skin retains all the moisture. Oils are easily absorbed, natural and protect the skin’s lipid barrier while lotions contain more synthetic ingredients but they’re designed to penetrate the skin and keep skin soft and smooth.
3. Scrub, Scrub, Scrub!
A very important step in the body care guide is to give yourself an all-over scrub. From your feet to your lips, it all needs an occasional scrub to get rid of dead skin cells and reveal fresh, new skin. When you don’t exfoliate your skin, all the moisturizers and lip balms are just sitting on the surface and not getting to where they need to be.
4. Sun Protection
We strongly encourage to use sunscreen on our face but we really need to apply it all over. Our neck, neckline and hands are frequently exposed to the sun but don’t get much love when it comes to sun protection. Our hands and neck are some of the first places that show the signs of aging and it’s very visible. Remember to apply sunscreen to other parts of your body that are exposed to the sun to keep it looking youthful.
5. No Sweaty Clothes
After you sweat from a workout or doing housework, don’t stay in your sweaty clothes. Change and take a shower so you can cleanse your skin and prevent your pores from getting clogged.
Exercise benefits just about every part of our body from the inside out. Working out consistently helps tone muscles, increases blood flow to keep our skin looking healthy and eases stress and anxiety to keep those frown and worry lines at bay!
