It is raining cats and dogs in Atlanta today so here is my beauty tips for these gloomy, wet days. First rule and the most important rule: No touching your face!
1. Simple is Best
Rainy days are not days where you want to cake on your makeup. Stick to the basics. Tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara and lip balm. There’s really no point on dressing up for the Golden Globe when you know you’ll be drenched every time you step outside. Use a CC or BB cream instead of foundation. The heavier your makeup is, the more it will fade in the humidity and your skin to be oiler. If you need more coverage, use concealer under the cream on your concerned areas.
2. Back Up
If you had a date or an event that is being held on rainy days, always bring your makeup and crisis management supplies with you. Your makeup wipes, Q-tips and beauty sponges will be your best friends when your eye shadow is running down your face like a scary SAW movie. Beauty is ugly sometimes.
3. Control the Frizz
Hair tends to get frizzy in humid weather so pulling your hair up into a ponytail, bun and side braids will be smart. Don’t straighten your hair on rainy days, it’s just not worth it.
4. Waterproof Everything
Waterproof mascara and eyeliner is a great investment for everyday, not just rainy days. Remember to get a good eye makeup remover with it!
5. Prime Time
Makeup prime is as essential as mascara and lipstick. Always use a primer after moisturizing and before applying makeup. It helps keep your skin smooth and pores-less so our makeup can apply on easier while maintain and set your overall look.
6. Color in between the Lines
Opt for a matted lip pencil for an all day wear. Stained lips works great as well.
